What Is A “PERS” and How Does It Work?
We offer a device that allows senior citizens to easily contact emergency services while giving them the independence they hope to maintain at home. It’s called the Personal Emergency Response System or “PERS”.
It is a medical signaling device for senior citizens to make sure they are able to contact emergency services while maintaining their independence. A simple press of the button on their pendant alerts our Monitoring Response Center (MRC) to your emergency. It offers a two-way communication method so you can talk to our MRC and they can speak with you as well.
Each PERS pendant comes with two batteries, a clip for keeping your pendant in a shirt pocket or on your pants, a Velcro strap for holding your pendant around your wrist, and a lanyard. Each PERS pendant is about the size of a business card.
The PERS also comes with a battery charging station. When the battery in your PERS pendant is low, you can easily switch it out with another battery that is fully charged in your station. For instructions on how to change batteries in your pendant – please click here.
