For our Employee Spotlight this month, we are featuring Lisa Ellis in the Customer Service Department! Lisa is a Customer Service/Dealer Liaison here at Amherst Alarm.
1. What does your job entail?
I started out as a Dealer Liaison and was responsible for creating and canceling all wholesale customers. Throughout my time here I have also processed incoming payments, created processes for auditing 3rd party invoices, created invoices and statements for our customers, assisted in conversions of data for acquisitions, and have also worked on several data projects. I enjoy problem solving and details, details, details!
2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm?
My proudest moment was when we completed moving all the customer data from Eastern States into our Sedona database after the acquisition. It took a lot of time and organization to ensure so many details were mapped to the correct fields from the client. I enjoyed working with the data team at Sedona to make sure all of the pieces were lined up and imported into Sedona correctly. Overtime, I have discovered I like tedious details to help find the big picture. It was very satisfying to finally see so much information moved and adjusted correctly.
3. Favorite movie or tv show?
TV shows I’ve loved throughout the years are NCIS (all three of them), Stargate Atlantis, Manifest, and currently I’m really enjoying Homestead Rescue. Favorite movies have been The Saint with Val Kilmer, Harry Potter series, Game of Thrones series, and Crash. I enjoy anything that makes me laugh, has intense twists and many intriguing details, or surprises me at the end. I love re-watching and discovering the many little complicated details that are easily missed the first time.
4. Hobbies / interests outside of work?
Currently I’m pretty consumed with being a Mom, but I’ve always loved art and being creative in general, whether it’s painting, drawing, scrapbooking, stamping, gardening…. I love DIY everything! I also love Halloween. I have an obsessive collection of Halloween décor from gargoyle statues to several sets of Halloween themed dishes, and of course many decorative skulls. Lately I’ve been taking my daughter on a lot of walks. It’s wonderful to just be outside this summer and enjoy moving after being stuck inside for so long with the pandemic.
5. What is your favorite meal or place to eat?
I enjoy a variety of food from really healthy crunchy stuff, like avocados and vegan chickpea salad, to the guilty pleasures of steak, pizza, burgers and Wegman’s subs. I think Greek/Mediterranean might be my favorite cuisine, but my favorite food is definitely eggs. Before I met my husband, I would eat eggs for breakfast and dinner 3 or 4 times a week. They are so easy, healthy, inexpensive, and super yummy.
6. What is your dream vacation?
I’ve always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. Other than that, I love the water and warm temperatures!
Thank you for all of your hard work, Lisa!
