1. What does your job entail?
I am the Senior Dispatcher for the MRC, which allows me to assist the Assistant MRC Manager with day to day operations of the MRC, assist Dealers with their needs as they call in, and monitor and assist with alarm traffic as needed. I am also in charge of the department’s analytics program and watch over our PERS program.
2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm?
I was handling a Carbon Monoxide Detector activation for a residence and dispatched the fire department to investigate. When I notified the customer of the situation, they had told me they were out of town and felt it was an error with the alarm system and wanted the fire department canceled. I was able to ensure it was in their best interest to allow the fire department to properly investigate and make sure all was ok. The customer finally agreed and sent over his brother-in-law. An hour later I spoke with his brother-in-law, who notified me the fire department did respond and found levels so high, the house was deemed untenable. If we did not act the way we did, they would have been overcome within minutes of entering the home.
