For our Employee Spotlight this month, we are featuring Samantha Hunter in the Customer Service Department! Sam is a Dealer Liaison here at Amherst Alarm.
1. What does your job entail?
My position at Amherst Alarm is Dealer Liaison, but the tasks that I am responsible for vary. I’m largely involved with the billing, invoicing and on-boarding of our wholesale customers who use our Monitoring Response Center to assist their customers. I also audit the invoices that we receive through our vendor partners and make sure that we are being billed correctly for all services, as well as making sure our billing database reflects the services used by our customers.
2. What has been your proudest moment working at Amherst Alarm?
I think my proudest moment was finding a way to more accurately audit a very complicated invoice. The process used to be very generic, but getting the audit narrowed down even further helped us find services that weren’t needed. This allowed me to find other adjustments that were also needed to be made. Working on solutions that help the company and our customers save money always makes me happy.
3. Favorite movie or tv show?
My favorite TV show recently is Schitt’s Creek, it’s hilarious.
My favorite movie is Beetlejuice. Most people around the office know that because I have Beetlejuice FunkoPop characters and magnets on my desk.
4. Hobbies / interests outside of work?
My favorite thing to do is hang out with my kids dancing around the house and being goofy. Sometimes I like tapping into my creative side and painting or drawing. I also participate with an amazing group of friends create and build a haunted house to raise money for families in need every year. It’s a long process, but well worth it.
5. What is your favorite meal or place to eat?
My favorite meal changes a lot because I like trying new things. When I go out to eat, I love trying small one-off or hole in the wall diners and restaurants opposed to going to the big chains. One of my favorite diners is Aunt Robin’s in Depew. They are constantly giving back to their community with free bagged lunches for kids in the summer and dinners for those in need on holidays. Plus, the food is great!
6. What is your dream vacation?
Last year, my first ever vacation was cancelled due to the pandemic, so I would like to try again for a Caribbean cruise. I think my ultimate dream vacation would probably be a trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights and the black sand beaches when my kids are older.
Thank you for all of your hard work, Sam!
