During this time of year, we would like to caution our residential customers to watch out for door-to-door salespeople seeking information about their Amherst Alarm Security system.

These types of scammers will approach residential customers as if they were one of our employees. The “salesman” use certain techniques in order to gain access to your alarm system and/or Amherst Alarm account. Be sure to remember the following helpful tips, if approached:

1. Did you previously set up an appointment with one of our servicemen? Only allow someone into your home if they have confirmed an appointment. We will never stop by without contacting you first.
2. Ask to see the credentials of the salesman OR call us at 716-632-4600 for confirmation that they are affiliated with our company.
3. Do not give any Amherst Alarm account or personal information to these visitors
4. Watch out for intimidating sales pitches or phrases that seem out of the ordinary. A common technique is for the scammer to claim something is wrong with your current alarm system.
