A monitored alarm system keeps your home, your belongings, and most importantly, your family safe and protected. Amherst Alarm is proud to have its own Monitoring Response Center right here at the headquarters in Amherst, NY.
While other national companies outsource their monitoring to large facilities scattered across the country, we pride ourselves in being located in Western New York and staffed by professional dispatchers who know the area to ensure a prompt response to any emergency situation.
The Monitoring Response Center is housed in a specifically designed, fireproof building that can operate on its own indefinitely by emergency power generators. Access to the building is controlled by electronic locks and video surveillance cameras on the exterior of the building. Amherst Alarm strives to make sure all your alarm monitoring and security needs are handled correctly.
Amherst Alarm continues to uphold the TMA-Five Diamond Certified Central Station designation. This means we are committed to providing the highest levels of customer service, training for dispatchers, industry standards, and reducing false dispatches and we are subject to random quality control inspections.
Our 24-hour alarm monitoring services are backed by our highly trained dispatchers who are prepared and trained to react in all situations. Amherst Alarm is proud to only employ dispatchers who meet extensive criteria for competency and undergo a rigorous training program.
After the dispatcher receives confirmation of the alarm, the appropriate authorities are dispatched to answer your particular emergency.

One of the growing realities in our industry is how the average person perceives an incoming phone call. Many now view phone calls as inconvenient and intrusive. If the incoming call isn’t a friend, family member or someone saved in their contacts then mostly like the call will be treated as spam. We see this daily at the Monitoring Response Center. Verification calls grow increasingly unanswered and this leads to unnecessary dispatch of the Authorities. How do we increase our customer engagement
to avoid these false alarms?
We are proud to introduce MRC Text 2 Verify.
When enrolled a customer and their contacts will receive an immediate text message detailing the alarm activity. The customer will have a brief window to discuss the activity and decide if it’s a false alarm or if they want a dispatch of the authorities. All before an Operator views the alarm. Traditional verification procedures would begin if there is no engagement of the text message.
